Experienced Field Journeymen Ironworker

Summary

You will be responsible for welding on structural iron, steel erection, and completing the tasks in a timely, quality manner. All of our projects are typically in the San Francisco Bay Area and Sacramento Region. We do not hire for specific projects. We are looking for full-time permanent employees to join our team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Careful initial planning of the job to be carried out, reading and following erection drawings/plans.
• Using cranes to lift and guide individual steel components into position.
• Knowledge on crane signals
• Accurately aligning and leveling each steel component into place before bolting and welding them into fixed positions
• Using mobile elevated work platforms, ladders, lifts as the structure gains height, to access sections off the ground. Forklift/Boom Lift certifications are a plus
• Laying metal decking, and installing safety railing as the structure is built up
• Health and safety is very important, so strict adherence to OSHA guidelines are a must and to be followed at all times.

Required

• Knowledge of reading erection drawings/plans
• 2+ years experience as a Structural Steel / Misc. Erector
• Welding certification (NR-232 certification)
• Drivers Licenses
• Reliable transportation and ability to stay overnight in the bay area (Company to pay for hotel and per diem)

Good practical skills for using tools, logic and good problem-solving ability, good listening skills and the ability to follow verbal instructions, good physical fitness and agility, a sense of balance and head for heights, an accurate, organized and methodical approach to work, a good team worker, an awareness and respect for health and safety working practices.
